97.7 ACK-FM was born on May 24 of 2012 right here on Nantucket and has been focused solely on the island ever since. We provide the local information and entertainment island residents and visitors both want. The sound and the content are curated right here 24/7 by people who live, breathe, and eat all that is Nantucket!

Musically, our format is called Adult Album Alternative, which means we play really cool new music from artists you might not have heard of yet. Plus, we add in some deeper cuts from some established artists you already know and love. Artists like Coldplay, U2, Dave Matthews, the Beatles, and even Oasis. It’s the perfect soundtrack for your Nantucket Island life!

But ACK-FM isn’t just about the music. We are hyper-local with a live/local morning show that features interviews with community groups, town leaders, and business owners. There is a steady stream of beach and surf reports, fishing reports, news, and weather exclusively for Nantucket. Plus, every fall, we are the proud home of Whalers Football play-by-play for every game. Nothing is too local for us to add to our airwaves!

We aren’t easily defined as a radio station, but we are defined by our community … and that’s what makes us sound so good!
